Itinerary
Day 1 – Fly to Kruger Shalati Safari Lodge
Your luxury safari adventure begins with a scheduled flight from Johannesburg or Cape Town to Skukuza Airport located inside Kruger National Park.
Upon arrival, guests are transferred to the magnificent Kruger Shalati – The Train on the Bridge where luxury meets history in one of Africa’s most iconic safari accommodations.
After check-in, guests can relax beside the over-the-river swimming pool, enjoy panoramic views of the Sabie River, and settle into their luxury carriage suite before dinner is served beneath the African sky.

Day 2 – Morning & Sunset Big Five Safari Drives
Wake up to breathtaking sunrise views over the Sabie River before departing on an early morning safari drive through the wildlife-rich southern regions of Kruger National Park.
Your experienced safari guide will search for Africa’s famous Big Five:
- Lion
- Leopard
- Elephant
- Rhino
- Buffalo
The Skukuza region is particularly famous for predator sightings and abundant wildlife populations. Guests may also encounter cheetahs, African wild dogs, giraffes, zebras, crocodiles, hippos, hyenas, and hundreds of bird species.
After the morning safari drive, guests return to the lodge for breakfast and leisure time. Relax beside the infinity pool suspended above the river, enjoy gourmet dining, or simply admire the incredible wildlife activity below the bridge.
Later in the afternoon, another guided sunset safari drive offers excellent opportunities to encounter nocturnal wildlife becoming active as the African bushveld cools down.

Day 3 – Explore Kruger National Park
The third day of your luxury safari offers another unforgettable wildlife experience inside one of Africa’s most celebrated safari destinations.
Guests enjoy another professionally guided safari drive through diverse ecosystems ranging from riverine forests to open savannah plains. The Sabie River region is especially famous for leopard sightings and exceptional year-round wildlife activity.
After breakfast, guests can spend time relaxing at the lodge, enjoying panoramic views from the bridge deck, or taking photographs of wildlife moving below the train suites.
Optional spa treatments and additional safari activities may also be available depending on lodge arrangements.
